 Ten days ago Canon announced that they would make new EOS-1D Mark III firmware available at the end of this month. Today, true to their word they have announced what is now being called version 1.1.0 which has the following changes; improves the look of images when played on the LCD monitor; fixes a problem in the operation of the dials; reduces the tendency to autofocus on the background when using AI Servo AF in certain conditions; corrects errors in the Italian and Simplified Chinese menus; fixes a rare phenomenon where the camera will not start after the battery is inserted. SciFusion Software announces the release of StopRedEye!, an innovative program to automatically fix the red-eye effect in a batch of images. The product operates in a lossless mode, modifying only small parts of JPEG images, and has no negative impact on the quality of processed images.

Secausus NJ-based Samsung Opto-Electronics America, Inc. has today unveiled three new NV-series digital camera models in cooperation with its Korean parent company Samsung Techwin Co., Ltd. The Samsung NV8, NV15 and NV20 are very closely related designs, with the most significant difference between the three being the choice of imager. All of the new NV digicams share the same body design, in all cases featuring a Schneider-Kreuznach Varioplan...

Samsung Cameras is building on the success of the groundbreaking NV Series with the launch of the NV15, one of three new premium compact digital cameras announced today by Samsung U.K. The Samsung NV15 features faster image processing, improved noise reduction, faster Advanced Shake Reduction, ISO 3200 support, 2.5" wide-view LCD, and 10-megapixel resolution. The NV15 is priced at $299 U.S. (£229 U.K.) and will be available in the U.K. in September 2007 and sometime in the fall in the U.S.

Samsung Cameras is building on the success of the groundbreaking NV Series with the launch of the NV8, one of three new premium compact digital cameras announced today by Samsung U.K. The Samsung NV8 is an 8 mega pixel compact digital camera wwith Smart Touch Interface, Advanced Shake Reduction, advanced noise reduction, ISO 3200, 3x optical zoom lens, and 2.5" LCD screen. The NV8 retails for £199 and will ship in the U.K. in September 2007. The NV8 was announced in the U.S. today but without official price or delivery date.

Samsung Cameras is building on the success of the groundbreaking NV Series with the launch of the NV20, one of three new premium compact digital cameras announced today by Samsung U.K. The NV20 is Samsung's first 12-mega pixel compact camera and features improved processing, 3x optical zoom lens, Advanced Shake Reduction, Red-eye fix, TV quality MPEG-4 VGA video (30fps), and 2.5" LCD screen. The Samsung NV20 will retail for $399 U.S. (£249 U.K.) and will be available in the U.K. in September 2007 and sometime in the fall in the U.S.

Samsung Cameras is pleased to announce the release of the 8.1 mega pixel i85. The i85 is equipped with a 3.0? touch screen LCD, an integrated MP3 player and PMP (Portable Multimedia Player) function. The i85 also features a built-in Tour Guide function, 450MB of memory, Intelligent Face Recognition, Advanced Shake Reduction, and ISO sensitivity up to 1600. The i85 will retail for $349 MSRP (£229 UK) and will ship in the U.K. in September 2007 and sometime in the fall in the U.S.

 Samsung has announced a trio of new compacts in its NV (New Vision) series, upping the resolution in the range-topping NV20 to 12 megapixels with 8 and 10 MP sensors available in the NV8 and NV15. All three feature the same attractive styling and innovative 'Smart Touch' interface as before - albeit with tweaks. The NV20 is the first camera from Samsung to feature a new and improved image processing system - it will be interesting to see how that performs when the cameras arrive at the end of August.  Samsung today announced its latest multimedia camera - the i85. Following on from previous i-series devices by combining music and video playback alongside its photographic abilities, the i85 has a few new tricks up its sleeve such as an inbuilt travel guide which may be updated online and a generous 450MB of internal storage.
